Well it was beside a bunch of trees, and he left a note saying there was naughty yank up in Maine that he was going to leave this warn, holed silver 3 Cent to, but he said screw that, left him coal and let me break my curse!

My other coin is a crusty 1812 One Penny. I wanted a copper but just could not get over any real decent signals, but on the way out I finally got it. It came in a spot i got another large copper years ago so may have to walk around there a little more next time.

The bird livery is a match for another I got when I first started hunting there, and that was so long ago I wasn't even sure what kind of button it was. Probably my first year, so it was sort of cool seeing another pop up.

But the best of my day, the Rev War RP button with the shank still intact. Always happy to find one of these.

Good way of ending the season if you don't get out again in 2014, though if you get any of the weather we're now having take advantage of it.

You just need to get on a nice early site that lets you dig lots of buttons! You know they are there!

Its funny because a lot of my sites are actually too early for them. I think I'm gonna spend more time getting on those last quarter of the 18th century sites. Most of the best coins and buttons are from that time period
