Sand Crab 'n silver

I hit the local park tot lot today to see what goodies may have been dropped over the Holiday weekend. Not much to be had, so I headed over to our little island spot that has been good to myself and Brett. The water had receded a bit over the last week so I tried the shoreline which in the past has produced wheats back to 1913. Got a dime hit about 6" down and thought for sure I had another Merc. So after digging through the nastiest smelling muck and rocks the ring comes up. Also in the same area I dug the '69 Hot Wheels "Sand Crab".
Thanks for looking and HH !

Re: Sand Crab 'n silver

You gotta love smelly marshy mud! Smells like someone buried a dead crayfish in the ground and poured muddy water over it. Just great.

Nice sterling ring, I'm looking for my 1st silver ring this year still. I guess that means I've got to start hitting the beach soon!

Wow, I'm surprised you didn't call me to inform me of the silver!

Congrats on a nice lookin' ring. Shine that baby up!

One good thing about the river muck, it keeps oxidation to a minimum. When you dig your first good old buff or V out of the deep muck you'll notice if it's been only there since it was dropped it retains some of the finish. The car looks pretty good for the potential time period it's spent under the muck!

Sweet ring!

That ring is great, and that Sand Crab is a "semi-key" hot wheels! ;D

Too bad it isn't orange! :o

Me? I'll quit detecting when I find a '68 Deora!

Hmmm?? Maybe I should send it over to Earl Shibes for a $99.95 paint job. ;D

The bad news is I've misplaced the Sand Crab. Good news is I'm pretty sure my wife called "Overhaulin" and it is now being feverishly restored by a 32 member crew. I've been practicing my "surprised look, which turns to tears", all day in the mirror just in-case. ;D
