Sand Blasting large artifacts?

In my opinion, sandblasting with propelled fractured sand can be devastating to say the least.

If you feel the need to blast, try power-washing at a low PSI setting or possibly use cottonseed or other soft material as a blasting medium.

An important or historic find can be totally destroyed in a matter of seconds.

Patients.

only asked because someone (very well THer) sent me one with just that in mind.
never have yet...99*

A friend and his partner found several Rev. War cannonballs, and the partner volunteered to "take care" of them. Luckily, he only sandblasted one (complete with British broad arrow mark) before my friend stopped by and was handed the shiny-new iron ball!

Oh, well, it'll probably look pretty good again in another 225 years.
