Isn't it funny how one can go back to a place and just change their style
of hunting a bit and it's like a brand new place? ;)

I went back to the same place as my last post, (att OWK), only I decided to
seek out a different target range/depth. I didn't exactly retrace my steps but that's
part of it, different style, different places to concentrate on.

Anyway, not as many, but, very, very interesting results:

Now, I've found my share of soccer spikes in my day
but this must have been one heck of a pivot!! LOL

Two whole wheat toasts to go! Both, about 10 inches down.

I will NEVER get tired of seeing this!! :)

Pretty nice lil trinket to warm my heart.
(still smiling! :) )

Then there was this hit I got, 68-69, fairly deep. I said,
"I don't feel like digging another pull tab/can slaw."

And, I walked on by, but, as any who have done this
hobby for a while knows, this particular piece of trash
just wouldn't let go of my mind. (I KNOW 68-69 doesn't
ALWAYS mean tab/slaw). I tried to ignore, but, as many of you
have felt, I just HAD to go back and check this one! LOL

Now, I've just barely begun to attempt to clean. Once I saw the beginnings
of the design, I think I know what this is but thought I'd let you guys see
and comment. Maybe suggest if there's anything I might should be doing with
this one. I used just a toothpick very lightly so far.

I didn't mention it in this post yet, but I did in the other one. This place has been
hit for YEARS!! And yet...... :)

Thanks for peeking!

I agree with Dakota

I tend to agree. A couple things that stood out for me was that little bit of something spikey at the top of his hair and the date being split up by the harp.
17 - 7? The 7 on the right seemed to be in the right place. Also the little knob on the top left of the harp is visible in person.

In any case, an ancient copper, still somewhat identifiable, in a place like that, just fascinating! LOL :)

Thanky Ma'am!

I don't know about "going to new levels". I think it's more likely a run of good finds as opposed to not. I have ALWAYS had a knack for finding things where other people have looked. Or come up with a new wrinkle on an old tune to hunt it differently. In any case, my blessings have been plentiful!

One of my oldest, grandest coins, gold, clad, great walk, what could be better? :)

Can't blame Blingie & Fishy. After all, this IS a bit different, it's G O L D!!!! Wars have been started over less! ;) LOL

Lol, that is true Sir, that is true.

I'm glad you are finding ways of of doing things outside the "box" we all seem to find ourselves stuck in at sometimes.

You are so right MBB. One of my biggest fears is : What happens when the permissions dry up? I guess it will be back to the drawing board, the old maps, reading dry accounts of genealogy and old newspaper microfilms....hoping a dim bulb comes on lol.

Don't you worry none, something always turns up, maybe a new improved detector! Besides, it would take a very long time to search every inch of soil....it's just got to be the "right few inches", and life is full of surprises!

Yep, every inch, every direction, every angle, every change of the environment, every depth. It can take one a VERY, VERY, long time to hunt even one small park or school...........completely. ;)

That's what I think with every yard I pass....haven't hunted that one! :sly:
