Here's two more- Whiskey Lullaby by Brad Paisley and alisson Krause, and If I Die Young by The Band Perry. They have two great lines that sum up a lot of life's pain. In Whiskey Lullaby it is- "Life is short, but this time it was bigger than the strength he had to get up off his knees" and in the other song, that incredible phrase-"the sharp knife of a short life".

Ok, I'm gonna wipe my tears away and start a "Happy song" thread :'(

Stand at the gravesite of a fallen Military Hero while Taps is played and see if it doesn't bring a tear to your eye, it does mine and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

History of Taps.............

This song has the most haunting melody (I think) of all time, and would certainly fit in this category.

Yeah, thrillathahunt, that is a haunting one. Thanks for sharing it, I'd heard the song, but not seen the video.

the last kiss--- aka--- oh where oh where can my baby be?

Good call Ivan, this was actually one of the most requested songs that my band played back in the day, way before Pearl Jam's version here. Original was by the late J. Frank Wilson.

Hey, Gollum, in keeping with your selection, a lot of people haven't seen this version........yep, this is NFL great Terry Bradshaw singing it........good voice.......
