S metal?

Found this metal detecting in 1800s lake 1800s house site. What is this? What type of metal is it? Its weird metal. It does not stick to the magnet. It could be anything really. View attachment 1919485

It looks like it's probably brass and I think it is part of a door lock or some type of latch.
