Dropped off some reject halves at a bank over lunch. In the course of the transaction, checked the reject tray of the coin counter:

In there were five Lincoln cents; all pre '82 (not wheats, though).

Strange that there would only be coppers in the reject tray, and they weren't mutilated at all; as they normally get counted just like the "zincolns".

Coincidence ? Your thoughts ?

with how inaccurate some of the machines out there are nothing surprises me. Every time I turn in halves I always get a couple bucks extra back off the fed count minus the silver. Its always a bonus.
Coins stuck in the machine, maybe the halves trigger some other denominations...who knows. But I usually end up with a couple dollar coins, a couple quarters, and a few nickels dimes and cents in my all halve batches. maybe they were just stuck in the machine.

Just enjoy it!

Yep-
Must be a Ryedale!
I got 2 Ikes and a Somalian 5 shilling the other day in the reject slot - hard to imagine missing those.
I also got $2 in mixed change today including 4 wheats.
