Rush Limbaugh

Don't spew what "they" taught you in "public" school. Go read. Funny how a bunch of self proclaimed entrepreneurs (even though essentially trash-picking) are whimpering about the preeminent conservative voice in America.

Limbaugh was using prodigious amounts of the painkillers, according to the documents. In May 2003, a prescription for 50 tablets of Lorcet was filled for Limbaugh at the Zitomer Pharmacy on Madison Avenue in New York. The tablets were to be taken at a rate of two a day, and at that pace the prescription should have lasted 25 days. Three days later, a prescription was filled for Limbaugh at the same pharmacy for another 50 tablets. A third prescription for 96 tablets of Norco was filled about the same time at the Lewis Pharmacy in Palm Beach, according to the court documents.

Yah - we get it; you're describing an addiction. Addiction makes you do things like that. When he hit bottom, he admitted he had a problem, went to rehab, and hired a lawyer. Smart.

If it weren't for Ben Franklin, we'd still belong to England instead of being Americans.

Yah - he started the corruption that is Ambassador appointments. He sure was special.

Bidding up to $25.

This is just my opinion of course, and I'm a fairly conservative republican (with no love for Limbaugh), but the man did face the consequences of his actions and, so far as we know, has straightened himself out. That's tough enough to do that most drug addicts, alcoholics, cigarette smokers or problem gamblers never manage to be able to do it. So at least give the man credit for excercizing his demon, whatever you think of his politics. Sitting around and picking on other peoples faults can really be one of our own biggest weaknesses, and one that usually goes unrecognized the longest.

As for Ben Franklin, think on this for a moment. Suppose the media in his day had been what it is today. Do you think Ben Franklins contributions to America would have been possible in the face of constant media criticizm and tabloid exposes over his personal weaknesses? Todays media would have relegated him to irrelevent, and who would be worse off for that? Again, just my opinion, but I'd have to say that his public contributions to our nation and to our personal freedoms FAR outweigh the man's indiscretions in his personal life.

Now, how much did that bobblehead sell for?? :)

did he face the consequences? I don't think so. he was arrested on a felony charge and bought his way out of jail. if it had been you or me, we'd still be there.
he's nothing but a felony prescription drug user. just because he went into rehab doesn't change the fact that he's an addict. but don't worry, it's just a matter of time before he does it again

Thanks for all the lovely responses , I think I'm going to hang on to the bobble head for now . If Rush gets into another big controversy , the value of it could go up .

Trash pickers? I have more respect for a dumpster diver than I do for a drug addict spewing nonsense to a bunch of barnyard listeners from behind a 10,000 megawatt microphone. Although trash pickers and Limbaugh do have one thing in common - they make their living recycling the same old tired garbage over and over in order to turn a profit.

Since you're a smart guy (at least I've seen you say that in other threads), and a smart guy would only say things like this with a very good sampling of data, it must mean you're one of the 20 million that tune in daily. Welcome to the show.

I thought you were pro-rights for drug users. :icon_scratch:

As an aspiring dumpster-diver, I find your comparison of Rush Limbaugh to people like me offensive.

How's that HOPE AND CHANGE working out? How's Holder doing? You like paying 220 % for gas. We really need to vote for some more nanny state crap so we can see what's in it.

And all this was started over a bobble head..... Amazing :(

I know! he's entertaining even when he's not around! (you did know this would happen didn't you? I mean we aren't exactly quiet on this site)

Man this thread showed the variations of opinions so here's mine. Old Rush for one thing wouldn't have admitted he had a big problem and never would have exposed himself to a voluntary clean up at a rehab center if he wasn't busted. And before he got busted if you were to ask him how he felt about drug addicts he would have had no pity for them, no understanding of them, and would have called them the scum of the earth. He was busted and forced into everything he did and played the game and has a big chance to fail and go back to the oxies. They are a heavy narcotic and he had a hell of a addiction or a passion for them and like a mistress they'll return or he'll find another to fill his needs. He also committed a felony and he should have sat in the slammer, at least for awhile.
And about 9 out of 10 people that get cleaned up will have a relapse. He's in the public eye and because of that someday he'll slip and I'm a firm believer in what comes around goes around and he'll get his in the end.
IMHO, Woodstock

A well put and honest opinion. One that I happen to agree with, the man is a class A hypocrite. And that has nothing to do with his political affiliation.
