If you use disc (and wet beach GB, and ground notch, and notch, and silencer) to quiet the Deus down on a salt beach you will likely filter out some tough to detect keeper targets. If you don’t use disc (and wet beach GB, and ground notch, and notch, and silencer) the chatter will likely keep you from hearing some tough to detect keeper targets. Let’s be honest, the Deus with its current algorithms can help you snag obvious keepers in salt beach conditions, but it would not make my top 5 as a wet salt beach machine. Great dry sand machine, though, esp for tough gold targets like chains when using the HF coils.

I will add this, I hunt salt beaches with the best salt water detector made, the Excal and I use no discrimination at all. I have found too many gold rings that would have been discriminated out if I used discrimination.

I use a Duel Field and dig almost all targets, I find close to the end of my hunts when my back is hurting Ill skip a deep target or two and wish I was using disc. Then next hunt use my Tiger Shark and find myself using all metal mode :dontknow: I think on the the beach you should dig it all so you dont miss anything.
