I only worked a few hours today. What work I had to get done was in VA. near the lake. I headed down to where the rivers meet but got distracted along the way. I passed over a creek named big buffalo creek. I stopped there to hunt a while and found a tip to a point and this, what I believe to be a game stone of some kind. I have a friend that has a discoidal made of the same light weight stuff.

Also found this clay or pottery that reminds me of trade pipe material. It's pretty thick. That's the problem with it.

I headed on down the road until I found this guy!

Come to find out, I didn't find him at all. He wasn't lost. With that, I snapped a pic, and on to the rivers. The rivers are down and I thought I could walk out onto an island in between the two. Wrong! I looked like a weeble-wobble stuck in mud up to my knees. I hunted the bank and exposed river bottom. There I found these pestles

I am seeing your quartz tool and a possible hoe in the last pic. I think the others may be river cobble. Stuff gets tumbled but it may have been used. No telling. I swear I am seeing a wooden or stone Indian though. That was cool !!

My buddy is wood. What talent that took. I'll get the name on the sign tomorrow. The guy that lives there does that work

So you call hoe on the last one? My second guess. What about the round piece. It isn't concrete. Really light and has shale in it. ?? I have seen cunkhney (misspell) stones made from this stuff.

we was just talkin game pcs and ya come out with one..........cool:icon_thumright:

I would like to see both sides of the first one.

I'm headed out hunting now. I tried to walk across the river yesterday and sunk to my waist in mud. Scared me. About 50 more yards and I would have had it. Now I have to drive an extra hour to get where I could have walked yesterday. This stuff looks like cement, but it's feather light. My friends discoidal had a little polish left on it. It was the same stuff and was beveled on it's edges to make a space ship looking disk. I'll get a pic of his in a day or so. This is a type of pottery. Mine was found on buffalo creek.

Also minerals wouldn't bind on concrete.

Probably sandstone. I know about that mud, this yr I almost sank away and the red mud is like glue. Thought I would never get out of it. The best advice is dont get in a hurry and take your time getting out of it or you will sink faster. Good Luck today! I have to work

Thanks bro. Yeah, I looked like a weeble-wobble yesterday. Scared me. I was alone, not a soul in sight. This was the river bed I was crossing. Last week I could have made it across. It's misting rain now.

Yeah we got some rain a little the other day and I hope it was enough to flatten out some of that planting in the field. No till isnt that deep but it does stir the dirt a little and the owner said I could walk on it so I need to hurry before it grows and covers everything. I would guess in the spring it will be churned for the new crop being planted. Then after it is picked I will be able to hunt again on it. He did say I could use my MD on his property so that is a plus. I am sure he didnt mean in the garden though. Plenty of spots around it. Hope you find a killer today! I gtg see ya later, rock

Its not a artifact its out of a old electrical appliance from the turn of century, I find them in fields where there were old houses and barns even found some in creeks.Heres a couple ive found.

Monkey's uncle. Thanks Bird Cloud. I would never have guessed that an answer would be found for this one. Thanks!! This one was in a creek. What were they for? What is the modern day replacement?

Good call bird.....seeing it from a different view def. throws out the discoidal idea lol

I'm glad he told me. I would have been proud of my game stone. Would have made yet another ass of me self.
