I have long used familysearch.com, a data base with millions of names and dates. Several times I have inputted ancestor names and dates. Not long ago, suddenly up came a page which lists tens of thousands of kin folk in almost every country in the world, as far away as 10th cousins. it is called Roots or something like that.
Tenth cousin doesn't sound too exciting, but what it does is list every name from yourself all the way back to a common ancestor, then all the way up again to the tenth cousin. Now that is extremely exciting! Family search is free. So far Roots is, too, but I cannot speak for the future.
