RookmanGold in Switzerland

2017 over and out...

Spent this morning reworking 2017 paydirt. Not a bad 2nd recovery! I think I ran it through too fast first time round...

Happy and Peaceful New Year to all...

So here it is... low season. Slipped on ice a coupla weeks back and fractured my knee. Luckily no surgery needed... but I’ve got to keep a brace on for 6 weeks and then recovery. All I want to do is put dirt through a sluice. I guess this is how you define patience.

Sorry to hear this Rookman Gold. hoping for a speedy recovery for you.

Heal up and keep on digging!

Knee out of brace and hiking like mad to build up strength for the new season after the melt. My physio said its the first time he’s treated a gold miner [emoji6]

Gold miners are tuffer then most. Docs finding out!

Sihl River

Nice Sunday afternoon, I thought I’d go to a local stream and try out my knee after I broke it just before christmas to see if i’m fit enough to get back to it fully.

I didnt expect to find any gold, it was more out of desperation to get going at my normal location.

First pan... there was it was... tiniest little flake, but its still gold in my local river! Totally unexpected 🙂

My knee is good to go as well ...

I find that Gold and Knees are similar, they both take constant exercise and patience. Glad you are doing well!...............63bkpkr

Triple Confusion

First real day back in the saddle after my dodgy knee... new spot, really remote. I called it triple confusion becuase I just couldn’t work out where the gold was to begin with!

Had to move the big boulder you can see in the photos.. verrrry heavy... I was imagining ending up trapped like that dude in utah as I did it ;)

Panning only or did you use a sluice?

Beautiful area. It looks like it may be a decent trout stream too.

Good luck.

Fairplay Colorado

Managed to get a couple of days in Fairplay (thanks to the advice of Kevin in Colorado).

Had a great day today. Pretty bushwhacked now though given the jetlag!

I worked very hard for that gold... enjoyed it though. Altitude and sun were both very intense.

Granite Post Falls

Back in Switzerland and one of those days where everything just clicks and is perfect... rounded off by a steady stream of good gold. (Just the bigger bits in the picture... plenty of fines to work through at the end of the season.) All finished off with a lovely swim.

Granite Post Falls

Back to GPF after a long summer break. The last clean up as all the gold dried up every which way I sampled.

Ok gold but time to move on to a new site. Trouble is i’m not sure where!
