Thankfully we had a time extention on this site, so today was our last chance so we put in a 7 hour effort.

More importantly Land-Mag's dog went off searching bunnies out of whistle range (up wind), so he had to go get her. By doing so he found another spread of Roman pot shards. He was out of shouting range so phoned Dad the good news. We marked off & investigated the site for just over 1 hour & got 14 scrappies, pottery, 3 bronze workings - so we have another site to do after harvest. (maybe metal working site no.2!):headbang:

Picture 1 of all the bronze workings/slag

76 Roman Bronze Coins (pictures to follow) Our best 1 day total this year!
1 blank Roman Silver Siliqua.
Romano-celtic Bronze Ring
I now level peg Dad with another Roman Lead Ring - never seen one, now we have 2 of 1 site
Lead piece with an imprint of a Roman Coin
Strange Lead Piece - Roman Whizzer???
5 buttons
2 Roman Bracelet pieces
Nice Roman Pinhead
Roman Fibula
Roman Leather Mount
Possible piece of Silver metal working (asking advice from the FLO)

Another great day8-)

wow I gotta see those coins

A snapshot of history. Awesome finds!

The Bronze age finds are really cool! Lead ring also! Never seen before you posted them. Finding another site by chance is the best find!

nice pile there...would love to see the coins too...

UPDATED:

Dad finished all the hard work recording all the coins details - pictures added at top.

Great hunt out there digging all the Roman goodies. What a site to hit for many seasons to come just think of possibilities that could be hiding for the next plowing to reveal it's self. Enjoy the site for sure!
