Went back to the No. 1 field today and standing the storm was worth every minute. Barely could hear the signals in the headphones...
This site isn't producing much but the finds are excellent. Gridding the area of the main building yields an ok Sestercius and a stunning ring. Roman gold is very hard to come by and this is the second gold ring from this site!

Another stunning find. Congrats.
Can you tell us anything about the age of the ring?

Another stunning find. Congrats.
Can you tell us anything about the age of the ring?

Difficult to say, romans had no markings or makers stamps. From design it's similar to the other ring from that site and all coins found are 3th-4th century. So my estimate is 1700 years.

Congratz! How deep did you have to dig for the ring? :o

You found another one? How boring for you.

Just kidding. A gold ring of that age, Banner every time.

wow that is incredible. I'd love to know what the inscription reads

Wow, incredible for sure. I do believe a gold ring with that much history tied to it really does belong on the banner list. Finds like this only get posted once or twice a year at best. Congrats again and my vote is going in.
All the best to you Westfront,
ZDD

Wow!

My vote is in for a Roman Gold Find, I may never get!!!!

Simply put-the vote is in for the ring.:occasion14:

Update straightened

Short stop at the jeweler this morning, took him a minute converting a piece of gold into a ring again. The plate has a bend but isn't fallen off :headbang:
Thanks for the votes guys!

Incredible finds... If I had dug that you'd have heard me scream all the way from TN. USA. Great job guy!!!!!

any idea what the letters signify?

I don't know what that key-like item is in the fifth picture...but it reminds me of a broken hand-cuff key.

Oh and nice gold.
