Hi. I'm new at this so overlook any mistakes please. All of the following are lava rock with no markings or symbols carved. Except, I wonder if the triangle rocks had help getting such perfect measurements. Okay, here we go. All rocks except triangles are round or flat about the size of a football or smaller. First rocks are all in north-south line with north star. 2 rocks indicate change directions west. One rock indicates change directions North to upright (pointing to sky) triangle rough rock measures 18x18 inches about 6 inches thick turned slightly northwest-southeast. About 30 feet farther north another triangle rock upright (pointing to sky) measures 24x24 about 8 inches thick turned a little more than the previous triangle but to northeast-southwest. The points of these triangles are in perfect north-south alignment with previous rock. Farther north another rock in alignment but not quite a triangle looks as if the top 3/4 was broken off. No remains of top. Going back to 2 triangles: A line drawn between the 2 points then a right angle line west leads to another triangle lying down measuring 24x24 inches about 5 to 6 inches thick with most prominent point pointing back up the same line. About 1/2 way up, a rock, football shaped with a 4 inch prominence pointing east northeast and resting on a flat rock points to a diamond shaped rock about 3 feet long with the sides cut off. This rock points to magnetic west exactly. Following this line leads to a prickly pear cactus then a yucca both in magnetic east-west line. Taking a line at right angles, magnetic north, leads to the flat top of the hill and over the edge of an 8 foot cliff. I have drawn these out in as precise sketches as I can with as much detail as I can include and will send them PDF to anyone who wants to try to figure them out for me. Give me an email address or tell me how to post or attach them here. P.S. The 2 triangles pointing upward are the only rocks in the entire area standing up. I interpreted them as a "funnel" pointing to the one lying down.
Thanks to all of you who have provided so much useful information.

I'd love to send sketches but first someone will please give me detailed instructions on how it is done. I have the sketches as a PDF. As far as where, well, near the Old Spanish Trail where lots of lava is found.

I know of a few old Spanish trails, but something tells me you're not in extreme Southwest Arizona. Maybe you are. Whatever you're seeing, they could be what are known as rock alignments, which are basically foundations of walls and other buildings built by Native Americans in pre-historic times. Are you finding any artifacts around there like pottery sherds? If so, what kind? Decorated? plain brown stuff?

I've yet to post a PDF.... To post a PHOTO , "respond" and above the response box are many icons..... The center group , towards the right , an icon that looks like a picture in a frame , is to post a picture. Your computer will ask "from where" .... go to your pictures and pick one ......
You will then return to the reply box with a prompt to "insert file" .
Good luck

Clifdweller here. I thought I sent a reply but since I can't see it I must have goofed. Sorry, sooner or later I'll figure out what I'm doing.
The rocks are 30 to 50 feet apart and are football size and smaller. Their only attraction is north star alignment. The triangles are too near perfect in size although rough enough to look natural. Still, I think they had some help from chisels. The two that are upright (pointing to the sky) had to be placed there by people although I think the people were trying to make them look like they blew out of a volcano and landed that way. The third one, lying down and pointing back toward the center line of the other two, cannot be natural. I'm going to try to send the sketches again.

Ah hope ya'll 'll forgive me fer wastin' yer time, ah'm 70 so these new-fangled mow-sheenes ya'll call com-peuters ur sorta baffling fer me.
My last post was an attempt to send all 3 pages but turned out to be 3 copies of page 1. I've made them into 3 separate files so it should work. I'm not sure if the small print is readable on this forum. If it can be enlarged, great; if not, let me know and I will figure out how to enlarge it. Thanks, all. Thanks, 4x4x4. I found and read (more like devoured) sandy1's info. Until then all I could find was info on symbols. This info is what I have been been looking for all along.

That's a lot of info without being able to put it into perspective. I am sort of lost so I won't be of any help. I say just try to apply Sandy1's teachings to your site.

Here I'll help you with that clifdweller.

I generally don’t let things offend me however if I did I would find it offensive to be called a “follower” of sandy1. I will say however, I think those who call us that are very out of touch with reality. I have three very large book cases containing somewhere around 300 to 400 books. There is not even one fiction among them. I don’t have time for fiction. I am too busy filling my brain with useful information. I do not have a television nor do I watch movies. My library is scientific, technical, medical and religious books. I find a lot of entertainment in real world stuff. Sometimes several of the books are by the same author. Much of the information I consider correct; does this mean I am a “follower” of that author? Certainly not, even though I will defend the author(s) and what they say. I do not believe everything in all of my books; even scientists can be wrong (blasphemy on my part, I’m sure).
Real world
I am 70 and in very poor health. My “golden years” were stolen from me as well as many of my generation by corrupt government officials and bureaucrats. I have paid into my retirement fund, Social Security, since I was twelve but at least seven times (I am told, please don’t ask me for proof, you can look it up as easily as I can) someone decided we didn’t need all that money and used it elsewhere. SS is not a tax, it is a retirement fund and there would be plenty without using what is being put in by younger folks if it had been left alone. This is like the bank deciding that you will not need all the money you put into your savings account so it is taken out and given to the bank officials to spend how they wish.
Did you know, federal employees do not pay into Social Security? They have a different retirement plan that never has money taken out for other purposes. Ain’t that jist dandy?
I used to like hiking in the hills and deserts but now I do it out of necessity. I have had to return to my old occupations such as pouring concrete to try to survive. When I go hiking I take lots of pain med before and after to get through it, as I do every day I work. I am not looking for sympathy but I wish to maybe silence those who only want to waste our time with their fault- finding instead of adding information that I and many others are looking for.
Loss of freedom
We have lost far more freedom than most people realize. I am a member of the GPAA and I am very familiar with the freedoms we as prospectors have lost. They (the corrupt officials and bureaucrats) want all of the gold, not just antiquities. (Now, I consider myself a patriotic American. I do not like it when I see people wearing shirts, hats and so forth that look like the American flag. Take time to read the protocol for the American flag, you’re not too busy. I was on flag duty in elementary school and learned all that stuff.) It is not the “government” or America; it is corrupt officials, both elected and appointed, as well as bureaucrats. Remember $400 hammers, $600 toilet seats and $37 (each) screws. Some pockets got lined on those deals and the American taxpayers paid the bill.
My son saw a sign that read:
“YOUR PUBLIC LANDS
MANAGED BY
THE BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT NO TRESPASSING”

My search for treasure
One day I had a “gut feeling” as I drove past a certain area. I decided to explore the area.. It took several weeks before I found the clues. There were no symbols or markings, just “stand-alone” rocks. I went to T-net hoping to find information and found sandy1and his so-called “followers”. No one else had answers. Considering the situation, the naysayers have given me no clues but sandy1 and his so-called “followers” certainly have. When I can afford to go back I will be looking for turtles, rabbits, eagles, owls, shaft signs, etc.
So, naysayers, tell me what I should be looking for instead.
Call me greedy if you wish, I am being forced to explore because of corruption in high places. Many of my generation are in like circumstances and I intend to help as many as I can. I bet I can do it too without starting a “cult” or gaining “followers”. Anyone willing to help me please go to WHAT IS IT? and look for ROCK TRAIL MARKERS. Any help or assistance in my greedy pursuit would be very welcome.
Finally, sandy1 and all the rest of you “followers” (ha, ha, ha) thank you for your valuable information. It is stored in my non-fiction e-library for ready reference.
Bye for now.

I still haven’t figured this out. I do have some more information that may help.

1. The 18x18 upright triangle has an open fish mouth on top pointing toward the sky as if waiting to be fed. The hole in its mouth is big enough and deep enough to hold a golf ball. The laying down triangle that is pointing back toward the centerline between the 2 upright triangles has a similar fish mouth but not quite as well defined. At another site about 90 miles away there is a cone shaped rock about 100 to 150 feet tall that has an open fish mouth pointing toward the sky.

I have not seen ANY information about fish mouths but it seems to be they are in more than 1 location.

Anybody have any ideas what they mean or if they mean anything/something?

2. I have found alignment rocks both north and south of the 2 upright triangle rocks that go to the laying down triangle. That is, going north I found a rock in line with the triangles. Then going west from it I found another rock that aligns exactly with the first rock and with the laying down triangle (LDT). Going south from the 2 upright triangles the rock on that line is exactly aligned with 2 bigger rocks and the LDT.

The LDT is heavy enough that it would take 4 or more very strong men to move it. I do have a fold up shovel in my backpack and could, if it is wise, dig under the LDT from 1 side. The other 2 sides are too well hidden by brush and a chopped down tree. (Convenient). This rock can only be seen from the big end as the brush overhangs it.

I would like to take measurements but there is a nearby road that is well traveled by hikers and bicyclists going to a nearby protected area. When I am visiting the site I try to look like a hiker and not a TH.

One more item to mention. Laying on the LDT are 2 small rocks. 1 is about 1 inch diameter and 4 inches long. Like a dowel. The other is about 2 inches diameter and 4 inches long. I didn’t notice these earlier but they have been there a long time because of the dirt underneath and the color difference of the tops and bottoms. There was a third 1, oval shaped, but it had been knocked off recently onto the ground and was upside down (Color difference). There were no foot prints except mine so I assumed an animal bumped it. I left it where it lay. These 2 rocks are laying at the bottom or big end of the LDT near the outside edge, parallel to the center line.

I suppose if I spend as many years studying this as many of you have I will figure it out. It would be so much nicer if somebody could help me figure it out and save me years, which I don’t have left.

Thanks to all of you. I’ve learned so much from you.

I think I'm doing something wrong. I guess I don't understand these forums and how they work. It seems that when I post something, shortly after that, the "thread", I think you call them, seems to come to an end. No more posts from others. Am I missing something?
Please, somebody give me some feedback.
