That's a cool rock, I don't know what it is but I'll throw out a guess, maybe agatized coral, as for an aquarium I'd be careful, over time minerals from whatever that rock is could leach out and kill your fish.

Agree with above. I have used rock that was just rock but I had African ciclids and they are tough and like hard water. If you have a bunch of tanks put it in one that doesn't have any quality fish in it and see what happens. Rinse the hell out of it first.
BTW, how old is your house and has anyone asked to detect it before? lol

Isn't agatized coral the ones with really beautiful looking insides??
Yeah I'm not gonna use it in aquarium until I know for sure that it's safe! Thank you!

Thank you! Well I got this rock from someone who already had it in his tank with some cichlids, for around two years.
But I won't use it, I did a bleach test and it didn't pass the test. So I'm just wondering what kinda rock it is and if it can probably be used in a saltwater aquarium..

I knew I mispelled cichlids! It's been years since I gave up on tanks.

Saltwater is even scarier putting anything in it that you have no assurance....

Now, back to metal detecting your yard......lol

Yeah it's true. But if this rock turns out to be something that came out of ocean, like coral related or something, then it should probably be safe for saltwater.. I don't know.
And my home is pretty new! Built it a few years ago.
