I found this rock a few weeks ago on the shores of Lake Michigan, and I'm stumped as to what this rock is since I've never seen one like it! Any suggestions to what it may be? IMG_7063.JPG

check to see if it is magnetic. Its possibly a meteorite, no guarantee's. Amazing pattern and colors. Really reminds me of 2D Modern art in 3D rock form. Almost has the Van-Gogh effect. Very Cool and Excellent find.

1st - I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard Smartin299! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country).

2nd - I moved from HELP! over to Forum: Rocks/Gems for more exposure.

fossilised structure can be seen easily. i searched for the mentioned honeycomb coral, looking to the patterns, seems very likely.
