I drove down to the river for a quick hunt. The water has gone down some but not near enough. Two brokes is all I found. The larger one is Indy green and would have been a nice early archaic point, possibly a Lost Lake. A whole one is pictured for reference.

Nice finds. I've searched the little creeks around here where I'm at and have never found any artifacts. I just wounder if the torrent spring run offs we have just doesn't pulverize most of the fragile microcrystalline artifacts. There are a lot of interesting alluvial rocks though that have washed down from the Rockies and some that are probably remnants of the ancestral rocky mountains. I should probably start collecting some of what I see.

You calling the little triangle a Madison or Fresno or whatever they are called in your area? Nice to see some new points, I like to think of them as little pieces of history lost for thousands of years and forgotten being brought back into the light.

We call them Madison around here. I only find them right along the river. I don’t think I’ve ever found one in a plowed field for some reason. They range from crude to well made. Usually 1/2” to 1 1/4” max.

Can anyone help me identify a few pieces I found in the creek ? The first image has a hole thru to the other side the second fits in my left hand almost perfectly

I'd say they are not artifacts, but instead rocks shaped by the natural forces of erosion. You'll likely get more opinions if you show them on your own separate post, rather than couple it to someone else's.
