I was hunting here with mr Arctica eigth days http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,419743.0.html
I managed to find two gold rings, three silver rings and lots of fishing equipment and foreign coins. My oldest coin from river was 1/2 skilling 1800 of Sweden. Also I found sport medals, Lenin badge and even pistol and shotgun. We had lots of fun here. And now pics ;D

Is that a Makarow? Pretty nice condition....the rest of the gun must be nearby when discarded in the water. The rings are not that bad too! But all this fishing equipment. If You get a little more you can run a shop next year...

WoW .. That is some super neat stuff! You all must be having a blast! Love that little toy derringer in image 1230!

no that aint a makarov, it is a norwegian copy of the colt 1911 pistol. I believe they called kongsbergs. I would love to have that as it could fairly easily be rebuilt into a working firearm.
nice finds.

Thank You, i didnt know that the 1911 were copied in norway. The design was known, but i didnt get it... Working condition is not far away! I have seen much worse guns brought back to shooting.

Ya its a 1911 or a knock off of it...I was going to say it could be even a Tokarev, very popular cheap knock off too...

After spending a number of years with that as my primary weapon, it was easy to recognize the reciever to an M1911 pistol. Nice shape too.

yes the norwegians paid for the manufacturing rights and built quite a few. I built one from a factory second frame, did all the pinning and fine tuning. the trigger is made for a left hander (thats me) it was bought and filed to be comfortable for me. try shooting it right handed and the trigger pinches.

the military still uses some 1911's but the 9 mm baretta is standard so more people could get hits. on average it takes 3, 9mm rounds to take out an assailant but only 1, .45 acp. I think the norwegian is 11.43 mm.

Looks like you had fun. Can I ask what river you were fishing in? Is that the same one that was dry?
Years ago, they closed a dam, near Pori, I didnt look for coins, but after a lot of splashing around in a pond, got a nice 5kg salmon, perfect for our midsummer day lunch.
