Found this a few weeks ago, I think when I did up my Thread I forgot to add it,
and figured not worth the time to re edit.

it appears to be aluminum.

DSCF0002.JPG

No markings inside

and I Thought it looked too large to be a Ring.
Until I put it on my middle Finger.

Now I'm not so sure.

It's too large for my Ring Sizer's which only go to 12 but if I had to guess , probably size 13

What do you think ?

Ring or fitting of some type ?

Any chance it is made of mithril?
If so, that could be the Ring of Adamant, (from Lord of the Rings).

Extremely valuable - that is, if you're not already DOOMED by having worn it! :evil7:

It kinda looks like one of those things they put on a hose and crimp to hold the end on. That is not to say that it couldn't be a ring, today we find something made of aluminum and consider it to be crap but at one time it was an exotic and valuable metal. Even as late as the 40's it was held in high praise, just check the prices for WW-2 German dress daggers made from it. There's a good history of the metal on Wikipedia. Cheers !

Looks like part of a bearing to me
Brady

interesting ! looks possible
only "but" is, it has no obvious markings (scratches) (Rims) (Rubbings)inside
that would suggest it was ever Fastened to anything.
but I never inspected a Bering like that.

yes I've dug Aluminum bracelets already from the 70's I think .
an of course most bubble gum and Carnival jewelry of the era was aluminum.
that's the reason I got curious.

This was an Eyeball find simultaneously to swinging over it.
not buried.

Parts of bearings like in bradyboys pix are super hard carbon steel, a file won't even make a mark on it.

that makes sense

Magnet won't stick & it's very light.
also Pointed Scissors End scratches it.

no doubt aluminum

How about these ones...
Tell me these would not be misconstrued as a finger ring.
