Well I don't have pics but a story. I was detecting in my local park and was getting ready to leave. As I was passing a couple that told me of a girl who was searching for her graduation ring she lost the night before. She was at a wedding reception and took the ring off to rub on lotion on her hands and forgot to put it back and when she got out of the car it fell. She didnt notice she had lost it till later. They took me to where she was but she had already left. So I really didn't know what metal I was looking it to hit on so just tried anything close to the surface. I was getting all types of dings and everywhere. It was a trashy area. After about 20 minutes or so I was about to give up figuring maybe somebody else already found it. So last resort I pulled out of pro pointer and just started running it on the surface. Within seconds I found the 2013 penn state class ring and turned it over to the couple who saw her looking for it. It was already indented into the ground but looked fine. I was happy to help.

Very nice of you to take the time to help. And great for the hobby, too, in terms of giving back (in this case, literally). Kudos!

The guy who alerted me said that situation made up his mind, he was buying one. As we were walking to the area in the park to hunt he was asking about mine and told me he had been mulling over whether to purchase one or not. I'm happy I may have gotten him into md ing. I haven't found much jewelry yet and the only ring I found happened to be buried in a mason jar so I don't have much experience looking for them. I mainly just try to find coins when I'm in the grassy/trashy areas of the park. If I would dig up every ring type signal I get, I would be able to make much jewelry out of pop tabs.
