Is that button with the off-set shank 17th C?

Crusader I was with him today when he found it. I really dont think its that old. BUT you never know if it was passed down. Its the coolest button ive ever held.

It could be we know that the site is from the late 1700 to early 1800s

trying to see if i can find any offset buttons but coming up with nothing

Nice looking little collection of finds!
Does the bell still ring? I find that if they are still intact you can loosen the "pea" inside enough for it to rattle around and ring.

Nice finds... see my comment on your other post. Not sure how it was posted twice.

I can't be sure because it has 17th C elements & 18th C, so at worst its 18th C.

yes it dose ring

Thinking the same. Offset shank looks to be because the two piece mold wasn't aligned correctly. This button is early 18thC. at least.
