This park is still producing for me, found a 1723 Woods Hibernia last week, today found another large. Looks to be an 1826?? One Cent. I was just about to leave when a huge tree fell and blocked the exit. Nothing like calling the wife and saying, I'm blocked in the park by a tree, I won't be coming home anytime soon.... haha

Very Nice! Do you do anything to the coins as far as cleaning them? I don't do anything to them except water to rinse the dirt off.. Is there anything that brings out the detail on the coins?

First off regardless of what some websites say, never use vinegar, or lemon juice, for it will eat away at the surface of the coin, and remove any remaining detail, I know it makes non-dug pennies shiny.

For cleaning, it depends on the coin, some coins are a loss cause, where they are already worn flat when dropped, and extremely corroded, and nothing can fix them.
Here is an example of that kind of coin:


This is what I recommend for your coin:Some coins are better, and you can see some when found, for these I recommend first rubbing a q-tip wet with warm water, and dish soap on the surface of the coin. You may notice that the Q-tip is getting brown with dirt that you did not even know was on the coin, that is a good sign. Then rinse the coin with warm water, and dry with a paper towel, do not rub, but press the paper towel on to the coin, rubbing will remove details. If you a not satisfied dip the coin in hot Hydrogen Peroxide for 30 seconds, take it out and rinse it again, and do the same thing with the paper towel. I then highly recommend to let the coin soak in olive oil for about a week, but a day will work, that is because hydrogen peroxide drys out the coins, and the olive oil moisturizes them. I usually soak all of my old copper coins in olive oil or mineral oil for a long period of time (anywhere from 1 week to a year), then loosen the corrosion with a toothpick if needed, sometimes that is the only thing I do depending on the circumstances of the coin.
Here is an example of coins good for that kind of cleaning:

Notice how a date and some details are visible, this is it's photo BEFORE cleaning, after cleaning it looks clear and sharp, and all detail on the coin is easily readable.

If you have a lot of visible detail left on the coin I recommend only using the Q-Tip on the surface of the coin.
Here is an example of a coin that would be good for that type of cleaning, this coin was cleaned with only a Q-Tip


I feel that leaving the coin alone will not hurt either, for it looks like there is not much you can do to make it look any better.

Anyways, I recommend you should soak you coin in olive oil or mineral oil for at least a week regardless, it will not hurt the coin, and bring out detail.
