Hi all,

I went out today until I was chased away by rain >:( I went to the only school in our district I haven't been to before, but it was too new..all I found was a lost tape measure >:( Things improved however as I stopped by another school on my way home that I had been to many times before. I found loads of quarters in the field there last year and a silver ring. This time I went to the upper part of the field at the top of a hill, where there were 3 or 4 tetherball poles  Those are always a good sign..I dug a nice silver ring near a tetherball pole at a different school earlier this year.

Anyway as with the other gold rings I've found, this was a solid nickel target. I was elated when I saw the glimmer of gold and I knew it was real by the way it looked..I saw a slight reddish discoloration which made me wonder if it was real for a second, but the hallmark took away any doubt. I researched the company, and this particular ring was indeed made with a hint of coloring as part of the design. It turns out it's a 10K diamond cut ladies' ring, made by the Black Hills Gold Company of South Dakota. The ring's composition is actually made with gold from the Black Hills, and retails for $140.00  It's a small ring, but probably worth more because of where the gold came from and where it was made. I was happy to find this one because although I've found lots of rings (more than 100 since last year), not many of them are gold.

My clad count for this quick hunt was $3.71 (11 pennies, 3 nickels, 7 dimes, 11 quarters). I'm only 8 quarters away from 1000 quarters this year and my total coin count stands at 5,266 :)

Hope you all find a little treasure this week.

Hey stranger! The schools here have been hunted to death as well, 'cause I'm the one whose hunted them all! I keep going back without finding much, but this sweet ring was an exception to several frustrating outings over the last month. I'm going to have to find some older areas now or it's going to be slow between now and the end of the year.

Tasha is fine, thanks for asking  Her stitches aren't healing as quickly as we'd like, 'cause Miss Hyper won't stay in one place..other than that all's well.

Thanks Bobby, nice to hear from you..you were right, once the first gold ring is found the rest come easier..I continue to shock myself since gold anything is hard to find around these parts!

Thanks RR! That makes 111 rings since last year, lots of silver, a few gold and lots of junk, but ANY ring is fun to find!

Thanks all, and hope everyone finds a little treasure this weekend.
