Rim lock/Box lock restoration complete

Went out to the old house I've been detecting and got the rest of the lock and knob hardware today. Everything was covered in rust and the lock was seized, I took it apart and cleaned every part of it the best I could. I just got done with the cleaning and finally have a complete set that looks nice. I can't find any information on the manufacturer which is making it very difficult to find a key for it.

Great job! It looks really nice. You might want to put a little clear coat to stop surface rust if you keep it natural.

Would rubbing some olive oil on it work?

I would give the inside a good coating of 3 and 1 Oil and a clear Wax on the outside , just incase You decide to paint it at a later date ? Again Nice Job ...
