Hello to all, Im new to this Hobby and metal detecting. Please be patient with me as I don't really know that much about it. I went to my regular bank and "dipped my toe in" the crh line. I got $50 in nickels and $50 in dimes and a bank box of pennies(GRRRR all new 2015's). This was my find.

7 pre sixties is on the low end of average. A box of nickels usually is good for 25 to 40 pre 61 ( I use 61 for my cut off as my Whitman folder ends at 61 ) with 1 or 2 war nickels maybe a buff and rare but I get them "V" nickels. Customer wrapped nickels are all over the place, sometimes I get none sometimes it's great. Hit every bank for halves, my best scores were CR but boxes keep you unrolling. Happy Hunting !

went and got another $30 nickels,skunked. brought them right back to my bank. The teller then tells me that she and her husband were the ones that had put those nickel rolls in the bank and they had already picked them and found 2 buffalos. She also said that SHE has "dibs" on all silver that comes into the bank! Guess I'll have to find another bank. And this is a small town dangit!! Think I'll just stick to md'ing. I also noticed that ther aren't many 70's nickels around here. Is there a reason for that?

At that bank I'd only buy Boxes then, I've no Idea why 70's are light. I'm only keeping the V's , buff's, War, and tough to get 38, 39, 50, 55P all the other Jefferson's are being recycled now, unless it's a perfect coin, or error. I've filled 2 folders, gave my nephew, and nieces kids starter sets, and have about 100.00 in nickels separated by year and mint mark as back up.

Today's dump 361.55 so I'm up all those foreign, also while awaiting my turn on the machine I asked the guy if he got all the silver from his, He said yes then we heard that silver drop into the reject slot. a 1953 Washington which he gave me for 50 cents. I then saw my Canadian Bank associate and sold her 32.00 in Canadian for 25.00. I'm happy with my bank run.

I then went to the coin shop was offered 350.00 for 40 Silver coins , including all my Barbers, all my large cents, all my 3 cent, all my 2 cent, my 2x 1883 Hawaiian quarters, 1883 Hawaiian Half dollar, 1903 25 Centavos Philippines, 20 various Canadian Silver Quarters . Didn't take that !
I then got a price of 60 bucks on 5 gram gold 14K ring. I'll give it away before I'll take 60. !

So back to my main bank and I opened a Safety Deposit Box, was getting worried with all the coin, silver, and rings laying in the house.

1894 O Barber, 1944 P Merc, 1943 P War and 6 Wheats, a token, pin, and a musket ball

60.00 CR nickels 2x 1943P and a buff along with 30 other Jefferson's '39 thru 61 of which 6 are now keepers.
Also added a 1902 V nickel and a 1964 Rosie dirt fishing !

January 21st 2015 tried my first roll of CR halves. Half the roll was 40% went back in and got the remaining 11 rolls same results. Ended up with 6 rolls of 40% and 6 rolls to dump, and an addiction.
