ya...this guy can be trusted with a weapon...
proof that 'stand your ground' advocates are too ignorant about firearms safety to handle weapons.

th.webp

has nothing to do with political party status, but knowledge.

at the risk of sounding like ben, how does that pic "prove" anything? (Although I'm not a Perry fan anyway)

Is it single action or double action? The hammer is down and not cocked. Was the picture taken as a "pose" for something and everything in front of him was safe even if the gun did go off? What are the details?

all about 'gun rights' but don't know your weapons?
and it does not matter if it is single or double action...

ONE NEVER PUTS A FINGER ON THE TRIGGER UNLESS YOU ARE READY TO SHOOT.

FIRST THING ANY WEAPONS INSTRUCTOR TEACHES.
sure can tell who has weapons training...fast.

Its not cocked, therefore impossible to fire, thats a Colt SAA

Hey Ole Secretcanyon!! The answer to your question is the guy is an AGGIE Alumni!! Enough said!! VERDE!!

Hey SC! The Gov. is actually standing in downtown Austin, in a little park across the street from the Convention center! The building seen by his right elbow is a upscale bar-watched a LSU game in there while visiting the Austin area. Very little room to shoot on that corner!! Unless your the Gov. of Texas!! VERDE!! GOOD HUNTING!!

It could be single action and not double action, it could be a prop, picture does not say and no story to go with it......

I would be honored and more than happy to shake the man's hand at any time or to stand along side of him..... He actually believes in the Constitution unlike may liberals...

Please feel free to avoid all states that have "stand your ground laws", here I will even help you avoid them.....
Alabama (enacted: 2006)

It's a single action revolver, this means that the hammer needs to be cocked before it is in condition 1, and ready to fire. From the picture presented, it appears to me that the firearm may be in recoil, having just been fired in which the finger would have been on the trigger! This constant searching for the smallest of mistakes is really alarming, and demeaning to otherwise intelligent people, get out and get a life...you are doing more damage than good to your supposed message, and it is really getting old!!!!!!!!!!!

Typical leftist BS. Look for anything, no matter how mundane, to try to prove a point that is pointless to everyone else. Personally I am tired of you constantly attempting to stir the pot and create fights. You go on the "ignore" list with others who hide under your bridge.

Actually he DID fire the weapon. It was loaded with blanks and was put on for some sort of Texas Motor Speedway event. It is no more dangerous than making a movie, civil war reenactments or fake shootouts at the OK Coral for the tourists. OMG!!..............the humanity!!

But PB, your not suppose to point that out, it doesn't fit the desired scenario wanted........

I have to go to walmart check on some ammo, then to grocery store, need to grab my conceal carry .45 on way out the door too........

Me thinks ben and sc could use some of pickers scripts:laughing7:

Remember TH, if you see any 17-year olds walking home carrying candy, it is ok to shoot them under the "Stand Your Ground" law. That's how Sharpton put it yesterday on MSNBC. He said that's what Zimmerman did to Martin. Simple as that, just shoot them for walking home. (That's how they put it to infuriate the masses and gather votes from the sheeple))
