Revolutionary War Site Finds (Unknown)

[Revolutionary War Hunter]

I also posted this in today's finds. No idea what this might be. The wood inside has shrunk considerably since it has dried up from being out of the ground. The wood is very fragile and needs to be preserved. All items found in the vicinity were 18th century. Any help would be great.

It's definatley from a hand tool...see the nail hole...nice find!
