In my last thread I shared some of my finds from 3 different permissions. One of those site I have been hunting a little over a year and starting to paint a picture of what took place. Last week we did a short 2 hr hunt and discovered a 1756 Spanish reale and a Spanish hammered cob. We only have a small patch available until harvest. I went back late evening and was soo excited to have found a Rev War French 18th regiment button. Its in beautiful condition with a nice patina. I have included some of the buttons and musket balls found in the past at the same location. Its neat when you start connecting the dots in what took place there. Ive included pics of what most the signals consist of and what it took to get 2 coins and a button. My nemesis ALUMN. LOL GL&HH

That button is amazing! Great condition. Congrats. -Lisa & John

Thank you Lisa & John. Its amazing how good it held up.
To be honest I'm not that surprised by this type of button coming out like that, the French made them in a higher quality of metal closer to a bronze (copper-alloy mix). Most will come out better than most buttons from this period.

Oh man, that is one SWEET button. Big congrats on a very nice old and totally cool relic find!:headbang:

Kurios1, it is a beauty! I was there when he dug it. The happy dance was great.
