You are right about that. I just got a VERY good permission as a result of returning this ring. Hoping I can fit it in before I head south.

BuckleBoy, is he still married to this woman? Is she alive?

Yes, still married to her. She and I have been keeping in touch via e-mail.

This story has so many bells & whistles (and a ring) that it was great fun to read.

Outstanding job!!

As George Peppard used to say on that TV show, "I love it when a plan comes together".

That is so awesome Will! good job!

Excellent job on the returned ring BB.
Your persistance paid off, you found
the owner of the ring and made his

Outstanding! Hats off to you sir for your repeated attempts at finding the owner

Thank you all so very much for your kind replies. This was surely a bright spot in my detecting memories.

Best Wishes,

Buckles

This is the best kind of find..... the thrill of the dig, the excitement of finding the ring, being able to track down the owner and return the ring, but my favorite part is always hearing the story of how it was lost. EXCELLENT JOB!!! :notworthy: HH

You're exactly right. Very, very few of the items we dig will we ever know the story on how they were lost. It is really cool to get the whole picture--and the human factor of what we do.

Best Wishes,

Buckles
