My husband went today. He spent $25. he was told the bracelet was plated, it's not. And the candle sticks were $15. Two are empire. The smaller one is birks sterling. I think we're going to stop by weekly!

Plus what do you all do with scrap silver? This is as far as we have gotten with it.

It's in a box.

First of all nice scores! and heres what I do for scrap silver.

Personally, I have a local coin shop that also buys scrap gold and silver on the side and the guy gives me about 85% of melt value which is really good since there is no shipping costs or tax associated with that. I shopped around and called a bunch of places asking what percentage of scrap value they buy for and thats how I ended up finding my guy. Its funny some of the places I called got offended when I asked what percentage they buy at and some didn't even know what percentage or were scared to say or something and didn't even tell me (which is a really good indication to NOT sell to them).

If you can't find anything like that close buy there are refineries you can ship stuff too and for smaller amounts of silver like what you and I are finding. I hear (midwestrefineries.com) is one of the best places to send it too. I know their website looks pretty basic but that would be my first choice if I was personally sending some in. Their reviews all across the web are really good.

Hope this helps some :)

You are very lucky to get 85% on silver. That is almost unheard of. Around here, I managed to get $3 per dwt under melt of gold and 80% of silver. If you walked in off the street, you would get something like 65% of gold and 50% of silver.

You can get 100% or better if you sell it on e-bay.
