Back in October I was lucky enough to find an older home site. Many holes dug and many keeper finds. One of those finds was a G.W. Button, #2 for me! The button was bent in half. IRON PATCH told me about Leonard Short. He restores relics, and quite well I must add! So I contacted Leonard, and away the button went.

It arrived today in the mail. I will let the pictures do the rest of the talking.

The guy definitely has some skills! Can you imagine what it would look like if most of us gave it a go?

Considering the increase in value and especially the eye appeal if you're keeping it, the cost is well worth it. Not to mention the electronic display case you would have needed to rotate it would have been very expensive. :) Now just a regular old button case will do.

If I did the restoration myself it would probably look something like this.............:laughing7:

That is such a awesome and historical find and the restoration must have been so nerve racking!

Wow what a awesome restoration job. He does great work.

Did the shank get replaced or was it still on there? Great work. I found a piece of melted lead today. That's what it would've looked like if I tried. What a talent.
