This evening I decided to stop by one of the sites in Savannah, GA that has produced many Civil War relics. I only had 30 minutes to hunt with my XP Deus HF Elliptical Coil, but I figured that I may be able to find something that had washed up from the torrential rain that had passed less than an hour previous. After about 15 minutes of finding almost nothing I decided to just start digging. Then this Republican Blues Button with a Ives Kendrick backmark (rare 1820ish) flew out of the ground. Check out the YouTube video of the find as well below.

I had to come back and submit a Banner vote for that button. It’s that awesome! Good luck. I gotta take some time off this fall and find a place in Savannah to hunt.

Thanks again! IMO this is one of my best finds.

My best button is my avatar photo and is somewhat similar to the one you just found. Yours is just as sweet and probably older than mine. These type buttons are few and far between. I hope yours makes a trip across the top as it deserves.

Congrats on an outstanding military button. That is the first one I have ever seen.

Thanks! It's a rare one, tied to much history here in Savannah.
