I am still detecting in my yard and have assumed it was ok, and harmless all along. I never asked my landlord because that opens the door for a "no". Its not specifically stated in my lease and i put down a security deposit. As stated above, i mow the grass and i am in charge of all the up keep, therefor i should be allowed to metal detect the yard so long as I'm not bringing in heavy machinery or tearing anything up. I wanted to see how everyone else felt about this, and have seen some really good points of view. Thank you all for posting your thoughts!
