The Johnstown Flood occurred on May 31, 1889

I was not aware of this event. Found a documentary on youtube. Should not have happened. Sad.
 

NEAT PLACE TO VISIT. BUT SAD TO WHAT THE MUSEUM HOLDS ,TO REMIND ONE WHAT HAPPENED ,TO THAT TOWN ..
 

It's interesting to note that city has flooded many more times than just the one in 1889. Even as late as 1977 they've had major flooding. It's proof that one can't tempt or take for granted mother nature, but it can be compounded by rich arrogant men.
 

I would imagine Hurricane Agnes in 1972 would have effected it.

but the Lost articles from 1889 would be more intersting
