The front of that looks like Jesus. I have seen a coin with the same picture on it from the 600s.

I believe it may be a miraculous medal.Thousands of versions out there and still popular today.just a guess. As it appears plated I would guess last 150 yrs.

Coinsareawsome, where and how did you find an example from 600(ad I asume)?

I think the figure is a Pope because he is wearing the Papal Crown. The Papal Crown was worn by Popes from the 8th century to the 20th century. The last Pope to wear it was Pope Paul VI. His death was in 1978, so your metal was probably made before 1978.

Neat find :) Breezie

Pope Leo could certainly fit as the pope on that medal, and he was Pope from 1878 to 1903.

I don't see a papal crown, Looks like a woman wearing a shawl. Hundreds of apparition medals. I will say it is definitely no a miraculous medal.

CZ, I've done a rendering of what I see.

On this one I have to go with crowned Virgin Mary, too.
Lots of crowned Madonnas and Marys if you google it...

Since it is in Cyrillic, it is probably an Orthodox leader, not a Roman Catholic pope.

using this token i seen on ebay i found limited info on the maker , Stefano Johnson of Milano , looks like he lived from 1813-1882 and started his company in the 1830's.
so much of this information on him and his company is not in english so i can not follow up on it .
i am not saying this guy made this medal, just showing there were medals being made in the past with the pope on it . it could be a virgin mary on the token found here , but i see a crown the same as breezie .
