When I first dug this I thought is was a knock-out from an electrical junction box. Was going to throw it away but figured I'd try and clean it a little better. I was surprised to see the religious images on it. Looks a little smooth and can't really see any writing on it, but kinda cool anyway. It's aluminum. Found it near an old cellar hole this morning. Anyone have any info on it?

Thanks for looking.

In the first pic, the image looks like Jesus. The bottom image looks like 2 people; maybe Mary and Jesus. Breezie

Ummm ... in the second photo they both have those Pope type hats on like maybe a Priest and alter boy or something. :dontknow: Most likely Catholic connected.

Interesting find.

Thanks.

Question :

When you say aluminum, do you mean solid or aluminum foil? It almost looks like foil with a cardboard center :icon_scratch: Or maybe that's just dirt I'm seeing :dontknow:

Thanks again.

First Image : Sacred heart of Jesus , Reverse: Mother Mary, And Christ as a child, The crowns indicate that Mary Knew even as a young boy the nature of his divinity. Some catholic churches are even call sacred heart churches! You recovered a sacred heart medal. May God Bless You! MaineRelic.

I just thought I would share this photo I found on eBay.

And to let you know I am now educated on something I knew little about until now.

Thanks.

Thanks for all the input SDBB!! Ive been looking online to try and find an exact match to the one I have dug. So far no match, but is sure is interesting to know what it is now. What a fascinating hobby this is.

Swartzie -

You're welcome.

And I'd like to add that if your "medal" is anything like a St. Christopher charm, it appears that someone really must have done some serious rubbing on it for luck and/or guidence.

Which is a good thing, and something that I could use from time to time.

Bob, I'm guessing it must have been in some type of moving water, sand and/or rocks, which rubbed it almost smooth. I found a Our Lady of Guadalupe pendant/charm at the beach, and it was just slightly better than this charm. ;D Breezie
