Religious item what is it

Google for "Russian Orthodox Traveling Icon". They sometimes have four panels rather than two... but check for signs that there are none missing from yours. Some have three panels, with two of them opening like a window.

Thank you redcoat I don’t see any place for any more hinges. It seems the one piece fits nicely into other so I believe it is all intact
