A cowboy buys a horse from a preacher
The preacher tells the cowboy the horse is religious
To get him to go , you must say ( Jesus Christ )
To get him to stop , you must say ( Amen )
The cowboy rides the horse to town & gets drunk
On the way back to the ranch the horse gets spooked
by a rattlesnake & takes off at a dead run
The drunken cowboy forgets the correct word to stop him
He is yelling whoa , whoa , but the horse just runs faster
Horse & rider are fast approaching a deep canyon
Finally giving up on stopping the stampeding horse
The cowboy says , Lord forgive me all the bad things I've done
( Amen )
The horse comes to a four footed sliding stop
Right at the canyons edge
The cowboy wipes the sweat off his forehead
With the back of his hand & says
Whew ( Jesus Christ )
