My wife and I just returned from vacation in Northern Indiana. She wanted to go to Vegas to gamble, but I talked her into going to my home town and hit the casinos around there instead. Of course, me being able to detect up there had nothing to do with the decision. 
We had a great time fishing, hitting the county fair, demo derby, seeing friends and family, tipping a few margaritas, detecting (me), and gambling (both 
).
By the way, before you make me out to be a bad guy, my wife hit a $1300 royal flush playing video poker, and beat out three of us guys with the biggest fish earlier in the morning, so I don't feel too bad.
I told her I loved her MANY times after she hit that. 
Now on to detecting.......... I had lined up a 1850's house in the country before we went back.
It was a beautiful old house and I almost felt guilty digging on their nice looking lawn. I was there for about three hours and the owner stayed by me and talked the whole time.
I was amazed to find can slaw, pop tops, and other crappe' in this yard. Somebody loved Pepsi products. Unfortunately, I did not find one silver coin or even an IH! ![:-\](https://www.treasurenet.com/smilies/undecided.gif "Undecided :-\")
I was pretty upset with that, because I had high hopes on this place. Even the modern pennies were very deep in this soft black soil.
I was able to find a few keepers though to make it worth the trip. Being in the Indiana countryside on a 70 degree day at a beautiful place like this was a little piece of heaven for me.

My finds were:
*Small eagle cuff button (not pictured / kept by the owner)
*Cast metal bulldog with "Washington DC" on it (not pictured / kept by the owner)
*Flower button with "W.H. Jones Co. - Extra" back mark (circa 1830's)
*Leak clip or pin (1800's I'm thinking)
*Lantern piece - thumb wheel is dated April 30, 1883.
*Minnesota / South Dakota token
*Train button
*1917D wheat (strange metallic finish on the front)
*Skeleton key, kids ring, pottery shards, two small bottles.
