Hit a couple of spots earlier this week. First spot yielded some good finds in perfect dry, dry sandy soil including a brass buckle, NY transit Token, '74 IHP and my first Shield nickel. Second spot at an old church site gone by 1895 yielded nails, nails and finally a cool 1837 Banque of Montreal Half Penny (love that lil' beaver in the middle on the reverse). Owner's little children followed me around the whole time, little girl said she loves horse and snagged a bridal rosette w/horse motif from the hole and the little boy got a handful of clad from my grab bag, fun times.
