This morning hunt was a nice mixed bag of relics, I guess the only "special" one is the VEDETTE data tag I found. All the rest are a mixture of buttons from around 1800-1830 and some mid to late 1800's suspender parts, salt shaker lid? and the modern find was another 50 cal bullet, dang, this place is a good mile from where the target ranges were during WW2..

I was surprised that no coins were found at the second homestead, just relics, may give the site there one more try, if no success I will stick to the sawmill homestead that produced that 1796 Large Cent and a lot of buttons.

As far as the VEDETTE tag goes, it evidently went on a bicycle and I looked for a good photo of a Vendette Model 29 for 1901 but only found a terribly small advertisement in a 1901 newpaper that is not clear enough to really see what the bicycle looked like, so if anybody can find one, please post a photo of it.

The patent date on the tag appears to read Nov 13, 1883 and goggling that was a lesson in patience, hundreds of patents were issued that day. :(

Overall a nice two hour hunt that was enjoyable. Oh, one photo for the gals, a pretty Pink Lady Slipper now in bloom, nothing like a wild Orchid. :)
