Hello everyone. Well I revisited a site where I have dug some really exceptional early 1800's Buttons. I brought along the Garrett ATPro to see what it would do on "Button Hill." The ground was real wet, because of the rain and sleet from last few days. Muddy in other words..First good hit was a convex button. I thought hey this is cool..Little did I know it was really cool. Well Flat buttons were flying and so was the mud. I stayed as long as I could on Button Hill. The mud eventually won. I came home to clean my buttons. After cleaning I was shocked to find out that the convex button I found had a crown with the Letters GR in script. I want to thank CRUSADER for Id'ing my button. Considering how old it is to me it seems like it is in decent shape. Good enough to ID. I didn't want to over clean it so I just sort of dry brushed it. The flat buttons turned out nice as well. Didn't want to over clean. Also found what I believe to be a keyhole cover. I may be wrong...The brass piece has a crown with GR Patent on the front. Also think I found a Railroad tag. I was detecting close to a railroad so I was thinking this might be a railroad tag of some sort. Well hope you guys like the Pictures.
