Wow!! What a collection!!! Congrats on your milestone and some amazing early silver! I have been fortunate to find many early relics and coins, and have some great old sites, but for some reason early silver eludes me! I have found 1 Spanish 8 Reale, and a 2 Reale, as well as a couple of early 1800's British silver coins. I need to move to VA! hah

That coin at the bottom towards the left with the thingy-magiger attached to it looks real cool

That's definitely an interesting piece. Its a late 1700s silver rupee from India found at a War of 1812 site. My best guess is that this was a souvenir brought back from India by a British soldier when he was stationed there (India was a colony of Great Britain at the time), and he lost it in the camp here in southeast VA later in his career. It has a loop soldered to the coin, so it was probably worn around the neck on a chain. Somehow it was lost and found its way into my goodie bag almost 200 years later. Anyway, that's my interpretation.

Thanks for posting These!
Congratulations, I admire your perserverance and MD skill.
Still looking for my first

Took me 12 years and a lot of research, not to mention all the digging, but I finally got there.
Nice display of old silver. Brian C.
