Hi to all!

I have been really busy of late moving and all, so I didn't have a computer for a little while so I'll get caught up here on my last three weeks of Th'ing.

First, the first week of October, I went to an older elementary school and searched the grassy areas. I had hit the woodchips earlier in the summer here and during my research noticed that the school was built in the 1950's. I found some nice older coins, a lot of clad, and some jewelry. I went twice during the week after work for about 4-1/2 hours total finding $11.17 total clad , 127 coins, a lot of quarters. I also dug a fake diamond ring that made my heart leap at first. Best of all, I got two Silver Roosevelts, 1963D and 1964D, and 14 wheaties, all 1940's and 1950's.

Here's a photo.

Happy hunting to all!

nice finds just imagine if that was a real diamond ring ;)

Actually, I don't often stop searching to check out a particular find,
usually in the pouch it goes, and back to swinging I go.
But this ring did cause me to sit a spell, on my butt, cleaning it
as it did look real. It came from about 5 inches and is is good shape
for a non gold ring. Oh well, maybe next time...lol.

Thanks for the friendly comment Whitesid

Hi bobby, gee you did really well this mos, do you keep track of your clad to see what you have for an end of the year total. I found a tooney last year and would like to find a looney to go in my collection but no go so far. Sounds like you might be the only one in the area detecting that spot, good luck
Mchamby

I keep track of everything... Totals, where, when, time hunting, the weather, all finds..lol
I am an engineer, what would you expect :)

I have found 5 looneys this year, a couple of them freaked me out as they come out of the ground so golden.

Thanks for the friendly comment he my friend.
My clad total is 2 bucks short of $300 this year, about 3700 coins.
If I counted the $130 bucks I found in the wallet that I returned to that girly,
that would put my total well over $400 I guess...

Hopefully, I can get out at least once more and get over the $300 mark.
I think I have found 6 gold rings, over 20 silver rings, 5 gold and 5 silver chains, 4 gold and 3 silver crosses,
and 3 gold earrings including the big 15 diamond 22kt one, and 15 silver earrings. Oh ya, and the $2-1/2 1858 gold coin... A great year for sure.

Bobby,

Great finds. I am sure you did some relic hunting before I joined this forum. One thing is for sure. You certainly hit this one with a flurry. Great silver and still you are able to bring out the jewelry.

Great hunt, congratulations. I know your area is not really as old as the east coast over here, but if there is old coin and other finds there I am sure you can pull em out.

Thaks so much my friend. It's good folks like you
that help keep me motivated and inspired. THANKS!!!

Nice finds,, Is that a dog whistle?

It gives a very high pitched but audible whistle noise
and I found it at a schoolyard... so I think it might a "rape whistle".
I am not sure, but I think I have seen these before for drawing attention
if you are being assaulted or something??

Thanks for stopping and commenting buddy!

Looney is an apt name as that's what they make me.
But I'll take a buck in a dig every time I suppose.

Thanks Hardy, I am glad I'm not the only one.

Cool finds. The little star with the one in the first picture is a Boy Scouts, first year pin.

I used to hit the elementry schools every few weeks. But there some new guy that has been doing them here, he probally unemployed because they are always clean as hell. I saw him twice now. He has really taken a lot of fun out of metal detecting for me.
