Hi to all!

I have been really busy of late moving and all, so I didn't have a computer for a little while so I'll get caught up here on my last three weeks of Th'ing.

First, the first week of October, I went to an older elementary school and searched the grassy areas. I had hit the woodchips earlier in the summer here and during my research noticed that the school was built in the 1950's. I found some nice older coins, a lot of clad, and some jewelry. I went twice during the week after work for about 4-1/2 hours total finding $11.17 total clad , 127 coins, a lot of quarters. I also dug a fake diamond ring that made my heart leap at first. Best of all, I got two Silver Roosevelts, 1963D and 1964D, and 14 wheaties, all 1940's and 1950's.

Here's a photo.

Happy hunting to all!

The first weekend of October, I got out for a short hunt, 1-1/2 hours.

Didn't find too much, $4.41 in clad, 47 coins, a dollar sign pendant, a rape whistle, and a pretty jeweled hair barrett thingie and 1 sterling bead.

Here's a pic...

Finally, I got out today for about 2 - 1/2 hours at an elemetary school woodchip play areas. This was a school district that has 29 elementary schools and this was the last one that I haven't hit this year. I had pretty good luck finding quite a lot of stuff. Not a whole lot of keepers but I was glad to get out as winter could hit any time now. I found a very very thin gold chain except I forgot to get it out of the jewelry clearer when I took the photo so it isn't in there. dahhh.
Anyway, I found $5.00 in clad, 45 coins including a Canada $1 Looney. I hate those things, they always scare me coming out of the ground bright gold. I also found a nice swiss army knife over 6 inches deep in the chips but it has no rust on it. It's totally functional. Also, a nice assortment of trinkets, 2 rings, 3 earrings, and 5 pendants. All in all, a really fun day battling some light rain and cool wind. Best of luck to you all!

Hi bobby, gee you did really well this mos, do you keep track of your clad to see what you have for an end of the year total. I found a tooney last year and would like to find a looney to go in my collection but no go so far. Sounds like you might be the only one in the area detecting that spot, good luck

Bobby,

Great finds. I am sure you did some relic hunting before I joined this forum. One thing is for sure. You certainly hit this one with a flurry. Great silver and still you are able to bring out the jewelry.

Great hunt, congratulations. I know your area is not really as old as the east coast over here, but if there is old coin and other finds there I am sure you can pull em out.
