Hi all,

I collected some pretty cool stuff , but A few of the things I picked up today I have no idea what they are or what time frame they're from. I'd love to hear some input on what you guys think! I will number the items I'm confused about . IMG_9117.jpgIMG_9118.jpg

1) Has two small screw/nail holes at the top. Is thin.
2) At first I thought they were keys but after washing them, they almost look like corkscrews? 3 this skinny one in the picture is the internal of the other two.
3) Heavy. Looks like it may be used for connecting chain links? No idea.
4) I thought they were glasses until I looked closer and it wouldn't make sense. Super heavy as well.
5) it has a swivel part so it used to move up and down.
6) Part of old farming equipment?
7) I thought it could be a shoe horn. What do you think?

Number 4 is a snaffle bit. Is number 7 the right size to be the handle of a cooking pot?

Hey GREAT area you are on... should keep ya busy and fun. :)

Keep it up... i have a feeling you are gonna find some really great finds.

Its obviously what we call "virgin ground"... meaning untouched by MD'rs.

Ok... now for some "guesses" on your stuffs.

1. Part of a lock plate... possibly "footlocker" related.
2. Flue pulls ? ? ?
3. Swivel from chain.
4. Driving bit.
5. Folding winding arm... looks like from old record player or ?
6. not sure on this... looks like from machine of some sort.
7. Pot handle... not that old... OR old fish scale remover - whats left of one anyway... but cheapo cooking pot handle is my real guess.

Just random quick guesses. hope it helps. :)

Nice bottle finds :icon_thumright:

#2 could be a key like was used to remove the lid off sardines or one that used to be used to crank the metal seal off old metal coffee can lids.

Love that bottle with the porcelain stopper and leather retaining cord.

P.s. I know I spelled seal like the marine mammals but not sure it was correct in this context. Will have to Wikipedia it.

For number 7, not that totally makes sense instead of a shoe horn lol thank you!
