recent find early car or stagecoach latch?

I found this in an old dump area that was used from about 1870 to 1915. The closest I have
found photos was one from a model T but the lever was a little different shape.

This was the first time that I had put photo on TreasureNet and I had a little trouble learning how, but the photos are correct. Thanks
