Hey gang,

The weather here was yucky today, so I decided to do another clad cleaning session. They're usually not alot of fun, so I try to put it off for awhile. I don't want to let it pile up too much though, so it didn't take me too long today.

I love the way they clean up!! Money in the bank baby!! ;D

On a sad note.......let us take a moment and have some silence for my poor old lawnmower victims. WARNING!!!!! THESE PICTURES ARE VERY GRAPHIC AND MIGHT BE DISTURBING TO SOME VIEWERS!!! :o

Yes............I was bored and this is my 1001st Post. Yay me!! ;D

It's sleeting here in Southcacalacky........brrrrrrrrrrr!!

Happy Hunting everyone!

That's horrid!! I can't believe you would post such CARNAGE!!

You are right. They do clean up nicely. Lookin' good!!

Laater...

:'(

Isn't that just aweful. :-\

:D

Very graphic depiction to say the least. Wondeful photographic journalism with subject matter that few in the business are willing to touch. I smell Pulitzer. On a lighter note Im saving every vicitm of the lawnmower and Im going to reddem them all at once at the bank cant wait to see the tellers expression :} You seem to find a high proportion of lawnmower quarters Ive yet to suffer such tradgedy...Shoot

Moonshadow, may I ask how or what do you use to clean your coins ? They look great !

Huntin' 59er

Lay them out flat on an anvil and beat them back flat. They still won't go through the coin machine but you can spend them! And besides, it kills time. Monty

if quarters could talk......those quarters wouldn't because there dead :D

Here ya go..................

INGREDIENTS:
1 Tablespoon of Table salt, ( Fully leaded not LOW Salt )
Enough DISTILLED white vinegar to cover the coins well,
A Brillo Pad (the soapy kind)
& a bit of ELBOW grease.

TECHNIQUE:
Place Salt and Vinegar into an old Glass or plastic shallow bowl.
Make sure the salt is totally dissolved by stirring well.
Place coins or jewelry in the solution for around 15 - 30 mins. Some items might not need as much time & others may need a bit longer, but DON'T over do it.
Check the items and give a little scrub every 15 minutes or so with the Brillo pad. The coins will have a dull finish to them but that goes away when you scrub.
Put items back into the solution until all the crud is gone then scrub & RINSE VERY WELL with fresh running warm water. I usually have a bowl of water sitting in the sink and put the cleaned coins in it until I'm finished.
and HEY PRESTO.!! You have nice clean coins or jewelry.

NOTICE.!! VERY IMPORTANT.!!
If you have a coin or piece of jewelry that you know or think is Valuable, Then DO NOT use this method.
You may take away alot of the value.

I also disposable gloves while cleaning. The chemical reaction turns your fingers green. I go through about 3 Brillo pads for a good batch of coins....they run outta soap after awhile and the coins clean better with a soapy pad.

Have fun!!

I used to be a bank teller Shoot......we couldn't accept mutilated coins. So you're just stuck with them!

Sound like to much work for me. Me I soak them in dish soap. Tumble them and bit and spend them. A pile like that is less then a half hour of time.

That's more graphic than a goat head on the beach!!! Put that in a vending machine, and no one will ever get candy bars or cokes again!
