Real gold?

Is it real or not? Only stamo on it is a U with arrow going theu it.. It bends an chips away to still wat seems to be gold!! Help??!!

it would appear to be plated and made by uncas mfg co. 1920-1988.google image uncas and see they have many fashion jewelry designs some silver but only plated or filled gold I could find.I can see plating failure

Military branch of service rings like this were often sold in PX (post exchange) stores, and also in off base stores catering to soldiers and sailors. Mail order jewelry and novelty companies sold them, too, as shown in this illustration from an early 1950's catalog.
